Public education is grossly underfunded across the country and by taking action today you will help bridge the gap & empower students to speak out on behalf of themselves & their education.
I am fundraising for a march on June 2, 2019 to generate vitally needed funds in support of our students, teachers and schools as well as unite the New York City Public School community and inspire a new generation of educated activists!
Cuts in education on the federal and state level could have a disasterous impact on our schools, which is why we need to March, raise money, and take an action to help our schools today, not next year or in five or ten years!
THE TIME IS NOW!
I truly appreciate your support and if you'd like to join my team and walk with me let me know and I can get you signed up!
Thank you for your time and donation!
Just the Facts:
United Way's EducateNYC - 80% of the people without a high school degree are living below the standard of self-sufficiency. In many of our city’s neighborhoods, students do not have the support they need to graduate high school and become financially secure. In Brownsville, one of New York City’s most challenged neighborhoods, 7 in 10 children cannot read at grade level and more than half of students are not graduating high school—these rates are among the lowest in the city. EducateNYC is UWNYC’s community schools initiative that brings the supports and services needed to remove barriers and help students succeed in school.
- 148,215 NEW YORK CITY STUDENTS WERE HOMELESS IN 2017
- 6 OUT OF 10 STUDENTS ARE NOT READING ON GRADE-LEVEL
